Benefit – You are free to move anytime you wish – within your lease contract parameters of course!

Drawback –You may have to move upon the lease expiration if the homeowner has other plans for the home…rent could be raised after your “year” is up, forcing you to pack and settle somewhere else.

Benefit – Your rent payment is fixed as per your contract, while your landlord may have to deal with an adjusting rate.

Drawback - You must trust that your landlord is not in foreclosure and continues to make payments on the home while you are living there.

Benefit – Responsibility for repairs is not yours!

Drawback – No tax incentives for renters, no equity either.
